We are currently looking for a skilled CNC machinist for our client in Turku to take on a versatile and challenging role involving the machining of large components. The work is carried out on a portal milling machine using Siemens 840D control. This is heavy-duty machining at its largest – the parts being machined range from 10,000 to 90,000 kg, with cast iron being the primary material. The work is done in serial production, so you won't be programming from scratch, but you must understand the programming language well enough to modify settings as needed.

Tasks and responsibilities as a CNC machinist:

-Operating and adjusting CNC machines according to production requirements
-Producing and measuring components based on technical drawings
-Performing quality control on machined parts
-Participating in the maintenance and upkeep of machinery with the rest of the team

We expect from you:

-Previous experience in CNC machining and programming, minimum 2–3 years
-Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including understanding of tolerances
-Good understanding of Siemens programming language (knowledge of other controls is a plus)
-A precise and careful approach to your work
-Experience with handheld measuring tools
-Good command of the Finnish language
-Experience with overhead crane operation is considered an advantage
-Willingness to work in a continuous 3-shift system
